Are you already active but looking for more exciting activities to increase your endorphin level? Look no further. The Health Promotion Board holds a variety of physical activity programmes which are held island wide. Take your pick and Get Active today!

Workplaces

Sunrise in the City (SITC) aims to provide a window of opportunity on the weekday mornings for working adults and individuals to energise themselves before a day’s work, and to work towards the recommended 150 minutes a week of moderate-intensity physical activity. Participants can look forward to a combination of aerobic activities and mind-body programmes such as yoga, multi-dimensional stretch, strength and fun fitness boot camp exercises, brisk walking and jogging. These workout exposure programmes are suitable for all fitness levels.

What's more, participants will have the opportunity to work out both outdoors (such as Central@Clarke Quay, UOB Plaza and the Lawn) and indoors with fitness gyms (such as TRUE YOGA, TRUE FITNESS, FITNESS FIRST, AMORE FITNESS and more).

HPB 100PLUS i-Run offers free weekly running sessions. These sessions are led by professional trainers who will give you tips on how to improve your cardiovascular fitness through running. Running clinics are also frequently conducted to impart knowledge and skills on techniques and injury prevention pertaining to running.

  • Please note that there will be no sessions on Public Holiday.

Prefer working out with music and friends? Join Fitness@Work with your colleagues now!

Fitness@Work is an initiative which aims to galvanise busy working adults into incorporating regular physical activity into their daily lives. It comprises an hour-long weekly workout session specially choreographed to suit people with different fitness levels. The energy-packed workouts offer a fun-filled alternative for individuals from the workplaces to come together to engage in regular physical activity. Fitness@Work (F@W) was first launched at Orchard Green on 27th May 2005.

Soccer 4 Health

When was the last time you scored a goal or even kicked a ball around? If you miss the good old days of playing soccer in schools or you love the camaraderie of being part of a soccer team, here's your chance!

Soccer 4 Health is a programme that promotes physical activity among men through a team sport like soccer. It is specially customised to suit the physique and fitness level of most males aged 30 years and above.

Besides getting a dose of physical activity that will benefit your health, you can look forward to getting free coaching/ training from certified soccer coaches. There is no better way to build your fitness than through a cool sport like soccer!

National Brisk Walking Programme

Brisk walking is a great low-impact activity suitable for everyone- no matter what age or fitness level. Brisk walk for 150 minutes a week is all you need for better health and wellbeing. Always aim to brisk walk at moderate intensity, ie when your breathing and heart rate increase, but you can still carry on a conversation.

FaBulouS

Engaging in just aerobic physical activity is not enough! To stay strong and independent, it is necessary to engage in physical activities that promote flexibility, balance and muscular-strength.

FaBulouS is an exercise routine developed by the Health Promotion Board to promote Flexibility, Balance and Muscular-Strength. Each routine has 4 progressive levels and each level comprises of the following components: warm-up, balance, muscle-strengthening and flexibility/cool-down. Free FaBulouS workshops are held on a regular basis for the public to get a taste of the routine. FaBulouS DVD is also available for sale now!

Community Aerobics offers an hour-long aerobic workout that is fun, interesting and action-packed to get your heart rate up and pumping at the end of it. It's also a great time to bond with your family and community, or just simply wind down after a hard day's work!
