The Singapore HEALTH Award

Introduction
The Singapore HEALTH (Helping Employees Achieve Life-Time Health) Award is presented by the Health Promotion Board to give national recognition to organisations with commendable Workplace Health Promotion (WHP) programmes. It is an important way of showing appreciation to organisations that strive to help their employees lead healthy and vibrant lives.

The Award has four categories: Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze.

With effect from 2006, the Award has been converted to a Biennial Award.

Individual Awards
There are also two individual awards to commend individuals who have demonstrated strong commitment and excellent efforts in promoting health at work:

  • HEALTH Leader Award - For a CEO or equivalent who has demonstrated strong leadership and support to the WHP programme.
  • HEALTH Promoter Award - For an employee who has made significant contributions to the WHP programme.

Sub-Category Awards

The Sub-Category Awards namely Fitness Award, Nutrition Award, Mental Wellbeing Award and Smoke-Free Award, recognise excellent and innovative physical activity, nutrition, mental wellbeing and smoking control initiatives in the workplaces respectively.

Applicants for the Individual and Sub-Category Awards must apply for the main Award.

The Singapore Quality Award specifies employee health and satisfaction as one of its award criteria. Being a Singapore HEALTH Award recipient means that you have attained a certain level of proficiency in relation to this criterion.

Eligibility Criteria
If your organisation had a WHP programme to improve employee health and well-being for minimum period of 12 months, your organisation is eligible to apply for the Award.

Private organisations are eligible if your company/business is incorporated in Singapore. If you share a business registration number with another business unit, but wish to send in a separate application, please enclose documentation to show your unit's autonomy (e.g. reporting line).

Public organisations (i.e. All statutory boards, restructured hospitals or ministry headquarters are eligible to apply).

Assessment Criteria
The assessment criteria will guide your organisation to develop an exemplary WHP programme. The four criteria used to assess your programme are:
  1. Programme Positioning and Organisation (25%)
  2. Programme Planning (20%)
  3. Programme Evaluation and Results (30%)
  4. Programme Comprehensiveness (25%)

Singapore HEALTH Award recipients will receive a Bronze, Silver or Gold Award depending on the merits of their WHP programme.

The Platinum Award will be awarded to organisation that have achieved consecutive 2 Gold Awards and have demonstrated tangible benefits from their WHP programme.

Use of Singapore HEALTH Award Logo
The Singapore HEALTH Award gives national recongition to organisations as select workplaces in Singapore with a commendable Workplace Health Promotion (WHP) programme. It also indicates the Health Promotion Board's acknowledgement of an organisation's commitment to promoting health at work.

Award recipients may use the Singapore HEALTH Award logo on their organisation's stationery, job recruitment advertisements or publicity materials of their WHP activities.
