The HealthZone TeenStar Contest encourages youths to adopt a healthy lifestyle in a fun manner and allows performing youths to be role models for their peers.
This contest is open to youths between 13 to 18 years old (as at 1 Jan 2006) and participating youths can perform a song, an aerobic exercise workout or a dance item incorporating one or more health messages on healthy living into their performance.
This Contest consists of three rounds of selection. The first round saw 46 performers being assessed.
The second round saw short-listed participants undergoing an improved performance and an interview to assess their personality, practice of a healthy lifestyle and knowledge on healthy lifestyle practices.
The eight finalists were selected based on their natural abilities, creativity in incorporating a healthy lifestyle theme into their performances, quality of performance and showmanship.
The winner will be determined by voting. Internet and SMS voting is available at HPB Online, or SMS 93398091 from 27 March 2006 to 6 April 2006. Visitors to HealthZone will also be able to vote for their favourite teen stars on 7 and 8 April 2006 when they watch video clips of the performances at the Terrific Theatre in HealthZone. The results of the TeenStar contest will be revealed on 8 April 2006.
The HealthZone TeenStar stands to win $500 cash. Consolation winners will also get $200 cash. The TeenStar, consolation winners and 10 lucky voters will win a group lunch date with Taufik Batisah.
