What is this event?

The Health Promotion Board (HPB) is organising an event, ‘SCORE for health’ Challenge, on 17th June 2006, Saturday at the Padang.

“SCORE for health”, aims to encourage Singaporeans to adopt healthy lifestyle practices such as purchasing ‘Healthier Choice Symbol’ (HCS) products, fresh fruit & vegetables, Nicotine Replacement Therapy  (NRT) products and exercising at HPB’s Fitness@Work workout sessions.

500 contestants will be chosen through a lucky draw to participate in the “SCORE for Health” Challenge. The main attraction is a pair of tickets to Germany to catch the World Cup Finals. The challenge is a simple series of exciting telematches that can be enjoyed by everyone of all skill levels.

An estimated 5000 people will be expected to attend this event. Various fringe activities and competitions will be conducted in this fun-filled event.


For Challenge Participants

A)   What do I stand to win?
“Score for Health” Challenge

  • Grand Prize: One pair of World Cup tickets to Germany.
  • Second Prize: $250 cash vouchers, 2 movie tickets & goodie bag
  • 15 x Finalists: Special Hampers from Team Singapore
  • All Participants: Goodie Bags worth $30

B)   What is the Challenge about?
The challenge is a simple series of exciting telematches that can be enjoyed by everyone of all skill levels.

C)   Do I need to know how to play soccer?
No. Participants will be put into teams and led by Team Singapore athletes. Teams will compete in telematches in a knock-out/elimination format.

D)   What time is the event?
Participants will have to register at 8am. Participants in losing teams will be allowed to claim their goodie bags but can stay on to cheer the remaining participants or take part in our fringe activities/stage quizzes.

E) Who is eligible for the “SCORE for Health” Challenge?
Adults 18 years old and above can participate in this challenge.

F) How do I participate in the Challenge?
First 500 participants who fill up the Score cards will have a chance to take part in the challenge. There are two ways to get the SCORE card to qualify.

i)  Fitness@Work
Receive a SCORE card at the end of the free outdoor aerobics session organised by HPB. Sessions take place weekly from 6.30 to 7.30pm at Far East Square, Fire Gate (Monday) & UOB Plaza Promenade (Wednesday).

ii) Purchase of Healthier Choice Symbol (HCS) products
Simply proceed to any of the 9 participating CapitaLand Malls and spend a minimum  $10 in a single receipt comprising at least one of the following items stated below:

  1. Healthier Choice Symbols (HCS) products
  2. Fresh fruit and vegetables
  3. Nicotine Replacement Therapy Products (NRT)

Any packaging that is named "Nicorette" or "Nicotinell" can be considered as NRT products.

Redeem a SCORE card with your receipt at the information counter. Fill in your form, cut off the perforated part and put it into the lucky draw box.

G)  What is a Healthier Choice Symbol (HCS) product?

Healthier Choice Symbol: The symbol to make informed food choices while shopping
Healthier Choice Symbol The Healthier Choice Symbol (HCS) on food products symbolises healthier packaged foods. It is intended to help people make informed food choices at the supermarket or shops.

Products carrying HCS are generally lower in fat, saturated fat and sodium, and some are also higher in dietary fibre and calcium as compared to similar products of the same category.

H)   Which are the participating CapitaLand Malls?
Simply drop off your SCORE card at the information counters of any of these participating malls:

For General Public

1. What can I expect at this event?

On the day of the event, there will be performances by celebrities such as Taufik Batisah and Kelly Poon.
For soccer fans, there is a 5-a-side soccer knockout court open to the public from 1pm.

There will also be soccer clinics open to kids aged 8-16 years old. Participants will stand to win MILO shirts with simple soccer challenges.

Free readings on our Body Mass Index (BMI) Measuring machines and Smokerlyzers and hourly giveaways of Milo & Yoga vouchers.

On stage, there will be a Best Dressed Soccer family contest and many health quizzes. There will be a Healthier Food Village tentage for free sampling and discounted purchases too!

2. Who can attend this event?

This event is open to public and the first 500 participants to arrive will stand to receive an attractive goodie bag worth $30!

3.   What do I stand to win?
Public can take part in our stage quizzes and win the following:

  • Movie tickets
  • Dettol Hampers worth $50
  • Life-size Taufik Standees
  • Oral Health goodie Bags
  • Kelly Poon's autographed album.

Hourly Giveaways

  • Free Milo product (400g)
  • Yoga Vouchers worth $35

Prizes for Best Dressed Soccer Family Contest
Families will come down in their soccer-themed attire. The best dressed soccer family will win a year’s supply of Milo (15 tins of Milo) and tickets to the movie RV: Runaway Vacation, starring Robin Williams! The 2nd and 3rd prize winners will win tickets to the movie "RV".

4.  What is the Milo Soccer Clinic about?
National Soccer players will be educating the participants on improving their soccer techniques. Each session can accommodate approx. 20 children.

5.   Who is eligible for the Milo Soccer Clinic? How do I register?
Children between 8-16 years old are able to participate. Walk-in registration is 15 minutes before start of session.

6.   What time are the clinics?
There are 3 clinics thorough the day:

  • 11:15am-11:45am
  • 14:00pm-14:30pm
  • 16:00-16:30pm

7.   What must they bring?

Participants should preferably dress in either a green shirt or shorts, and appropriate footwear to attend the clinic. Milo will be giving Milo T-shirt and drinks to the participants.

8. What is the 5-a-side Soccer Challenge?

A 5-a-side soccer field will be available to the public for open play from 1pm. All participants will receive a goodie bag.
