20 brave HPBians trekked up Gunung Lambak, 510m above sea level, located in Kluang, Johore on 2 July 2005. For most of us, it was our virgin trek but an exhilarating and satisfying experience since we are city dwellers who are more used to concrete buildings than nature!

Some sweat but all smiles still!
Colleen (R&E) was our fabulous guide and helped us navigate the small but steep mountain! The terrain of the mountain was uneven and rough. Think 5 times of Bukit Timah Hill- it took us a good 90 minutes to get up and 60 minutes to get down. Ling Li could not have summed the entire trek better “feeling like spidey on the way up and butt woman on the way down”.

HPB Manhunt 2005
The view from the top was gorgeous but the real highlight of the trip was the amazing group camaraderie which made all the panting during and aching after worth it! The group is currently toying with the idea of Mount Ophir in mid September, watch this space!
