Introducing Frank Chan

As Frank has recently joined HPB, here are some questions for him from us …

Welcome to HPB, Frank. When did you join us as an Executive in NMPP department?

“I joined the Board on 3 April 06.”

Where were you before this?

“Prior to this, I was working at an eldercare and rehabilitation centre with The Salvation Army.  I took care of patients with medical conditions such as dementia and stroke, as well as organised life-enriching activities for them.  The activities included nursing care (bathing and wounds dressing), rehabilitative exercises and bringing them on excursions to the parks or places of interests.

I first started out as a public relations executive with another statutory board - Singapore Tourism Board.  Subsequently, I moved on to the hospitality industry before embarking on social service.“

What are your pet activities?

“In terms of personal interests, I enjoy the outdoors as much as indoor activities.  They include swimming, nature appreciation, water sports, the performing arts, catching a movie or just tete-a-tete with good company.”

How is life so far in HPB?

“So far I have been made to feel welcomed at the Board. There is much to learn and certainly room for growth. I view life as a ceaseless learning experience and it is paramount to one's character development.  Life-long learning is not just training and development but it also encompasses something more holistic such as learning from others, and even from mistakes.”

Thank you, Frank, for your candid replies. We hope to see you in our walking, dancing and other activities planned by the very active HPBians for HPBians,, and  most of all we wish you many happy years in HPB.
