Veronica Tay (SHC/YHD):

Mother of two young adult sons, so I’m very ‘senang’ now. I am waiting for my hubby to retire (if he ever does, being the workaholic that he is) so that we can globetrotter together.  I spend my time after work watching tv and interacting with my 5 cats. I’m also on the go in our HPB gym 3 times a week in the wee hours when the cross trainer is available. Often, meet Chew Ling and Sharifah there too. Chew Ling also likes the cross trainer but unfortunately, there is only one (hint, hint!) A gym workout is not complete without weights training – All done in 45 minutes! My goal in life is to stay as healthy as long as I can and to donate blood 70 times by the time I turn 60!

Norman Chong (Smoking Control/AHD)

I remember when claypot rice was still served along the Chinatown streets – you could smell the lup cheong and salted fish a mile away.  Someone who “lives to eat”, I’m always on the prowl for the best chilli crab, fish slice soup and the other thousands of dishes available island wide.  I supplement this hobby with regular trips to the gym and pool.  Anyone knows of a good place serving cheap teochew muey buffet?

Er Ming Hung (Physical Activity/AHD):

I was hooked on running during my varsity years. It happened when a friend of mine asked me to train IPPT with him. I almost died running with him – think almost saw heaven and hell. It dawned upon me that I couldn’t carry on living a sedentary inactive lifestyle and started doing something about my fitness. I took small steps and gradually improved my fitness. As they said, the rest is history. I lost more than a couple of pounds and decided to participate in marathon every year. This year, my aim is to hit ambitious sub-5 timing. Please motivate me to train.

Eugene Heng (Tertiary Institutions Outreach/YHD):

Sports is absolutely in my blood and I can’t live a day without it, either as a participant, spectator or reader. The arrival of my son more than a year ago has, however, wrestled away more time than I had anticipated from my athletic preoccupation but the time spent discovering him discover the world has been priceless! I can’t wait for him to join me in future.

Lynn Ng  (OD/CS):

Someone who likes to jog, cycle, travel and not forgetting shopping! I’m not really a “pet-person”, instead I’m a “kid-person”. I enjoy playing with my little nephew who just turned 2 in April; love hearing him calling me “Yee Yee” (aunt) and of course brings joy to our whole family. When I’m not going to the gym, running after him is definitely another good form of exercise for me!

Grace Seah (RDS/CM&C):

I am a cheerful person as i believe that cheerfulness is one of the key factors to enjoying life. My time after office hours and on weekends is all for my son whom i enjoy running after. I am glad to have this bit of chance to exercise since I have not had anytime for jogging which was my favourite sport before my son arrived.

Sng Lee Noi (School Dental Service/YHD):

I have 2 daughters, the younger still in JC.  We do a lot of things together like travelling, watching the Opera, shopping or just watching TV at home. Although we all have our busy schedule, my husband included, we try our best to spent time together as often as possible.

Linda Tan (SP/R&SP):

One who enjoys travelling and dabbling on graphic designs if creative juices flow in. And YES this is the reason why I am here in VOICES, because of the latter. Apart from these I do go to the gym or swim every week. I had a great time during my first term with Voices and looked forward to working with new members & of course with more exciting issues to come.

SN Mageswari (SHS, YHD):

I am delighted to be in the Voices committee. This is my 10th year in HPB. I am a staff nurse in School Health Service. Apart from my work, I love to entertain my little baby boy by singing nursery rhymes and playing with him. I enjoy shopping and outings during the weekends with my family. My favourite “makan” are spicy dishes and I can’t resist seafood. To maintain a healthy lifestyle, I spend my leisure time dancing at home.
