spike

Spike is my 5 year old Siberian Husky. He is a very friendly dog who loves to have people around him. He is always yearning to go for a run but everyone is just too tired to entertain him after a long day of work, so he simply entertains himself by running himself around the garden or pouncing on the rubber balls. People thinks he is fierce due to his wolf-like face but he is actually quite a silly dog who cannot resist the temptation of any kind of food. However, given a choice, he would rather go for a run than to have his meal.

Like most huskies, Spike is a very quiet dog who does not bark at strangers (he is more likely to wag his tail at them), though he does always growl at a neighbour's border collie. He is more likely to make pitiful howls at us for not taking him for a walk followed by a really sad and bored face at the door to make us feel guilty. He has really brought joy to our family with his silly antics.

Piko

Piko is my 3 year old pet chinchilla.  Chinchillas are small rodents native to the Andes mountains in South America.  Literally meaning "little Chincha", these rodents were named after the Chincha tribe of the Andes, who wore its soft and dense fur.  Its fur is so dense that it is not habitable by even fleas.  They can live to about 12 to 15 years.  Chinchillas are vegetarians and have very sensitive tummies.  They cannot process fatty and sweet foods well.  So Piko gets a daily supply of hay-based pellets, loose hay and an occasional raisin or two on his birthday.  Chinchillas are known to spray urine and bite if frightened, but generally they are docile creatures.  Nocturnal by nature, PIko requires a large enclosure to exercise and like all chinchillas, is unable to sweat.  Its thus common practice to house chinchillas in airconditioned rooms, especially with our local weather.

louie

Louie, the youngest member of our family is now 7 years old. He flew in all the way from Brisbane, Australia on a Qantas flight.
Louie, a Chihuahua Poodle mix is gentle and friendly. He has his likes such as his favourite toy and favourite persimon fruit.  He is also a spoilt brat, and choosy when comes to food.
He is totally scared of lightning and thunder and he always take cover under his favourite blanket.

My family says that he is a son to me, and I can't agree more!

chloe

Chloe, my 6 year old cat, is also an adopted stray (notice, she has a cut left ear, indicating she is sterilised). She is a loner and doesn’t interact with the other 4 cats and hisses at them. Thus, they gang up against her. She stays outside the flat in the lobby area when I’m at work and comes in when I return from work. About twice a year she decides to run away when somebody opens the lobby door. Her last runaway episode was 31 May 07. I found her missing at 9.35 pm. The newspaper man had come to collect payment and she could have bolted down the stairs. Posters were up in 10 blocks and the security guard was alerted. At 12 midnight, the security guard called to say Chloe was loitering in the pool area. Thus, ended the adventure of Chloe the cat, the security guard was duly rewarded.

benji

Ben, my “harimau hitam” is a noisy, ferocious and territorial cat. Picked up from Jurong East MRT food centre in May 2004, he was no bigger than a rat.
He is now an obese cat and weighing 5.5 kg.  He sleeps most of the time and loves to be cuddled.  He will swing his tail, when called and purrs a lot.  He enjoys being groomed by Jerry, my other cat who is like a “kor kor” to him.  During feeding time, if Jerry eats first, he will nudge Jerry away with his head, and takes the food first.

Ben will screams loudly and becomes very agitated if he sees other cats outside our house.  He will also direct his anger at whoever is standing near him.  Jerry and I were attack once by him. I used to tell Ben that he must always share his food with other cats who are not so lucky as him.
