How long have you been a nursing professional?
I have been a nursing professional for more than 40 years. I have gained my working experience in institutions like SGH,KKH, Middle Road Hospital and Alexandra hospital.

When is your last day? Are u ready for retirement.
My last day is on 6/8/07. I am ready for retirement, retire, enjoy and then expire!

What’s the best thing about working for HPB?
The best thing about working for HPB is taking care of the adorable children, and to see them grow healthily.

And the worse?
The worse is when attending to unreasonable parents' complaints.

What’s your proudest achievement (not necessarily work-related)?
Taking a 2-hour lunch during work! No lah, jus kidding. When my two sons graduated and secured good jobs.

If there’s one thing in your life you can change, what would that be?
To be boss of my own company or the boss of someone else’s company.

What are you doing in your spare time now (before retirement)?
During my spare time now (before retirement) I would monitor my stocks portfolio and attend religious activities. (Ed-Can teach me how to play stocks and shares????)

How are you planning for your retirement?
I intend to take a break upon my retirement, maybe migrate to 2nd Singapore – Perth. Just kidding again. I am a very loyal Singaporean, die, die will stay and die in Singapore!

What’s on top of your wish list?
That both my sons get married and have their own families (Ed- Ha, wishing to be a grandmother and hope they still give you pocket money!)

How do you intend to while away your time?
Spend more time with my aged mother and practise meditation to while away my time.

Would you like to adopt a pet to while away your free time? I can recommend a cat!
No, cos’ I’m afraid that it’s so sad when it is time to part with it. (Ed-You have to part with your sons also what. Never mind, I can recommend another pet for you to adopt, give another homeless animal a home, leh)

Is your CPF and pension money enough? Are looking into making more money to support your retirement?
More money better what. Yes, I am looking into making more money to support my retirement. I will complete reading my book on "Investment to win" so that I can be part of the solution rather than part of the problem.

Any last words of advice for would-be retirees?
Plan early for retirement, be happy and stay healthy. (Ed – And take up line dancing like every other retiree?)
