Goodbye 2007, Hello to another good year. Time for reflection, new beginnings, and giving thanks

At the end of 2007, we will be looking back at the year and taking stock of how things were, how the year has passed and what we made of it. They say that time flies when you're having enjoying life. Is that what we were having? Fun? Hmmm.

Around this time, I like to review the year, what I’ve done, become, achieved, what I’ve learned (or not) and set goals for the year, which I write down and review at intervals through the year. Maybe there were things I had totally forgotten about. Maybe there were some really brilliant moments that I want to reflect on. The things that happen to us, be it good, bad or ugly, take it as a lesson from which we learn.

So what about you? How was 2007 for you? Are you looking forward to 2008? What does the new year have in store for you. Maybe you’ll be changing jobs. Maybe you have plans to buy your home or renovate it. Or maybe you have a baby due this year. Maybe you’ve made a resolution – lose weight, get in shape, go for your higher degree, eat healthier, quit smoking, control your road rage, spend less money on useless items, be more organised, spend more quality time with your family and friends, forgive someone for something they’ve done to you, find yourself spiritually….Maybe you’ve made several of these resolutions, whatever big plans you have for yourself, you’ve got 365 days to get it done before it’s time to do all this planning and resolving all over again for 2009.

A resolution I had last year was to throw out the junk in my home. I’d also like to catch up with reading my medical journals, spend more time with my cats and husband, broaden my baking and cooking skills, compile my recipes....

Those are just a things I hope to get done during 2008. They are fairly easy goals

Think about what you hope to acccomplish for 2008. It’s a brand new year, so its ok to start with the things you have not done last year. It’s the perfect time for another shot at anything you want to do. You can do it!

In this last issue for the year, we the Voices Reloaded Committee present a variety of articles, from holiday tips, unique hobbies of HPBians, interview with some of our Directors, our usual column on pets, recipes and food reviews……Finally we encourage you to share your favourite recipes and feature your pets with VOICES.

A Blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year to all!”
