Chinatown will be transformed into a fairyland of light and colour with spectacular overarching decorations lining the streets.
The festive street bazaar will start from 19 Jan to 6 Feb. With delectable array of goodies like waxed duck, barbecued sweet meats, assorted cookies and other New Year accessories, this makes it the place where the Chinese in Singapore congregate year after year to soak in the festive atmosphere.

Singapore River Hong Bao 2008
The Singapore River Hongbao is an annual Chinese New Year cultural exposition which has taken place in Singapore since 1987. It is part of Singapore’s unique way of welcoming and celebrating the lunar new year. At the River Hongbao, one can expect to see majestic large-scale displays of popular Chinese mythical characters, cultural exhibitions, daily line-up of traditional and contemporary song & dance performances and activities, boisterous fireworks displays, amusement rides, games, food and beverage retailing local culinary favourites and foreign delicacies.
