Swimming is a fantastic activity for the whole family, and provides good cardiovascular exercise. However, there are risks that come with this fun-filled activity. Here are some things to look out for when you're at the pool:
- Always accompany your children when they are swimming. Keep an eye on your children when they are in the pool.
- Make sure that the water does not reach above your child’s chest-level when he is standing straight in the pool. This ensures that the pool is not too deep for him.
- Floats and other swimming aids help prevent any accidents, so be sure that your children are sufficiently protected.
- Should the weather turn bad, leave the pool immediately.
- Take note of where the lifeguards and rescue aids are located.
