First-Aid Procedures > Head Falls

Falls are common among young children. Although most result in mild bumps and bruises, some falls can cause serious injuries that require immediate medical attention.

FIRST AID FOR MINOR HEAD FALLS:

  1. Hold the child and comfort him or her.
  2. Compress any bumps or bruises with an ice pack.
  3. Let the child rest for the next few hours.
  4. Watch the child closely for the next 24 hours for any unusual symptoms or behaviour.
