The
blood vessels on the septum (the firm tissue which divides the nose)
can break fairly easily and bleed. The most common causes for a
nosebleed are forceful sneezing, nose picking, blowing and infection.
FIRST AID FOR NOSEBLEED:
- Sit the child comfortably, with head tilted slightly forward.
- Allow the child to breathe through his or her mouth.
- Pinch the soft area of the nose (just below the bone part) for
10 minutes (time it carefully).
- Reassure the child.
