Certification for Quit Smoking Consultants

The Certification for Quit Smoking Consultants is a national programme that enables Quit Smoking Consultants to provide quality smoking cessation support. The Health Promotion Board will be the certification provider.

Objectives

This programme aims to equip Quit Smoking Consultants with:

  • Advanced knowledge and counselling skills to provide effective smoking cessation services to clients
  • Information on the latest developments in treating tobacco dependence

Pre-requisites

Consultants are required to have:

  • Completed the Level 1 training course, or another equivalent course
  • Accumulated at least 30 hours in smoking cessation counselling or 60 hours in general counselling
