About hiSG (Seniors)
Terms and Conditions
Eligibility
For this cohort, hiSG will be recruiting Singaporeans and Permanent Residents aged 50 or older.
The study device, a Fitbit Versa 3/4 Smartwatch, is an integral tool of this study and it needs to be synced to your personal smartphone with:
A Singapore-registered (+65) mobile number
iOS 15 or Android 10 and above
Commitment required of participants
In order to ensure sufficient data is collected, all participants will need to meet the following minimum requirements of use during the 24-month study period:
Wear the study device for at least 8 hours a day on at least 5 weekdays and 2 weekends each month.
Wear the study device to sleep on at least 1 weekday and 1 weekend each month.
Record your meals consumed on at least 3 days (2 weekdays and 1 weekend) every 3 months

If you do not meet any of these requirements at any point in the study, you shall be considered to have voluntarily withdrawn from it.
Deposit and Direct Debit Authorisation (DDA)
All hiSG participants will be required to:
Make a $50 deposit for device issuance and
Set up a Direct Debit Authorisation (DDA) arrangement with HPB via their bank accounts
This DDA setup will allow HPB to collect payment should the need arise due to lost or damaged devices.
Withdrawal from the Study
You may withdraw from the study at any point. Should you withdraw before the end of the study (24-month period), you can choose to return the study device in its original working condition or keep the device for personal use at a fee. However, please note that the $50 deposit paid will be forfeited.

What happens next?
Selection of Participants
We want to gather a sample group of participants with a good mix of demographics and lifestyles, as well as health attitudes and perceptions to reflect various segments of the population to best benefit the nation. As such, we regret that not all registrants will be part of the initial group. However, registrants will still be considered for future groups if eligible.Notification of successful participants
Successful participants will be notified via email and/or mobile phone by 31 Dec 2026. Instructions for the onboarding process will also be provided during notification.Onboarding of participants
Participants will need to sign an informed consent form to commence participation in the study. They will then collect the hiSG starter-kit, which comprises the study device and accessories before completing health and lifestyle surveys on the hiSG mobile app.
