Nation Optical will partner the Health Promotion Board (HPB) to provide 10,000 pairs of spectacle frames with lenses for needy students over three years with effect from 27 July 2009.
2 Nation Optical, in commemoration of their 15th Anniversary, has set up a Student Eye Care Fund worth $1.8 million to provide 10,000 pairs of spectacles for needy students.
3 Basic vision is essential for children to participate and feel confident at school, and at play. Sometimes, eye care can be an unexpected health cost for families and we are happy to assist those families and their children in defraying costs for the spectacles, said Mr Lam Pin Woon, Chief Executive Officer, HPB.
4 Our 15th Anniversary is a milestone for Nation Optical. The team wanted to embark on an initiative that can make a difference to the lives of others. We decided to set up a Student Eye Care Fund to donate 10,000 pairs of spectacles in 1,000 designs so students get to choose a design that suits them, said Mr Simon Siow, General Manager, Nation Optical.
